Front-End Engineering Design

Front End Engineering Design Services

Turn the selected concept into a coordinated FEED package.

Turn the selected project concept into a coordinated basis for investment, tendering and detailed engineering. Teckniv develops FEED packages that bring process requirements, equipment definitions and discipline interfaces together. We make the design basis, technical assumptions and outstanding decisions clear before the project moves into execution.

Who we support

Owners preparing a project for sanction or tender, and EPC or PMC teams that need a coordinated technical baseline before detailed engineering and major procurement.

01 / Engineering capabilities

Capabilities shaped around your project.

The scope is agreed around the decisions, interfaces and engineering outputs your team needs. These work areas can be combined into a defined package.

Process definition

Develop the process design basis, flow diagrams, preliminary P&IDs and heat and material balances. Establish utility needs and the operating conditions that drive equipment and system design.

Equipment and layout development

Prepare preliminary equipment specifications and datasheets, plot plans, routing concepts and key layout requirements. Review access, maintenance and constructability across disciplines.

Discipline coordination

Develop initial electrical loads, control philosophy, instrumentation requirements and civil or structural design inputs. Coordinate the major interfaces between packages and the wider facility.

Project definition

Support cost estimation and tender preparation with a defined package of deliverables. Review risks, safety and operability inputs, and record matters to be closed during detailed design.

02 / Your engineering package

Clear deliverables. Ready for the next team.

The deliverable list is agreed at the start. Each issue identifies its purpose, revision and outstanding inputs for the next project stage.

  • FEED design basis and discipline philosophies
  • PFDs and preliminary P&IDs
  • Equipment datasheets and specification inputs
  • Plot plans and preliminary arrangement drawings
  • Utility and electrical load summaries
  • FEED report, risks and outstanding actions

03 / How we work

A clear route from requirement to handover.

We establish the design basis first, then develop and review the package with your project team.

  1. 01

    Agree the requirement

Validate the selected concept and freeze the FEED basis.

  2. 02

    Develop the package

Develop discipline deliverables and equipment definitions.

  3. 03

    Review & coordinate

Coordinate interfaces and complete design reviews.

  4. 04

    Issue & hand over

Issue the FEED package with a clear handover to detailed engineering.

04 / The technical context

Aligned with your facility and requirements.

The equipment duty, project location and client standards determine the methods, platforms and acceptance criteria.

Industries & applications

Oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical plants, power, industrial utilities and water treatment. FEED can support new facilities, additional process trains or modifications to existing operations.

Software & digital delivery

Process calculations, preliminary layouts, equipment datasheets and discipline schedules are developed in project-agreed applications. Model and document exchange requirements are established early so the detailed-design team can use the package.

Standards & design basis

Client engineering specifications, applicable discipline codes and site requirements are captured in the FEED basis. Safety and operability reviews inform design development; unresolved actions are carried into a controlled handover register.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to common scope and coordination questions.

What makes a FEED package useful to the next team?
Consistent design assumptions, clearly defined interfaces, traceable decisions and an explicit register of unresolved items reduce ambiguity during detailed engineering.
Does FEED include final fabrication drawings?
Typically, no. Fabrication and installation details follow in detailed engineering after equipment and vendor inputs reach the required maturity.
What should be agreed before FEED starts?
The selected concept, capacity and operating cases, battery limits, available site data, key client standards and the intended procurement route. Any unresolved items should have an owner and a planned decision date.
Can FEED support tendering for an EPC contractor?
Yes. The package can define the technical scope, preliminary specifications and interfaces needed for an EPC enquiry. The tender use and required maturity of the deliverables should be agreed at the start.
