Civil & Structural Engineering Design

Civil and Structural Engineering Design

Build a sound foundation for your facility.

Design the foundations, structures and supporting infrastructure around the plant’s actual loads and interfaces. Teckniv provides civil and structural engineering for industrial, energy and infrastructure projects, from preliminary arrangements through fabrication and construction details. We coordinate structural requirements with equipment, piping and electrical systems.

Who we support

EPC teams, plant owners and fabricators requiring foundations, steel or RCC structures, pipe racks and equipment supports for new facilities or modifications.

01 / Engineering capabilities

Capabilities shaped around your project.

The scope is agreed around the decisions, interfaces and engineering outputs your team needs. These work areas can be combined into a defined package.

Foundations and civil works

Develop foundations for static and dynamic equipment using the available geotechnical and loading information. Coordinate levels, access, drainage and other civil interfaces within the project scope.

Industrial structures

Design pipe racks, equipment supports, platforms and structural systems for operating and environmental loads. Assess strength, stability and serviceability against the agreed criteria.

Steel and concrete detailing

Prepare steel and reinforced-concrete drawings, connection details and fabrication or shop information. Develop quantities and reinforcement schedules appropriate to the package.

Modification and execution support

Review existing structures for proposed changes, coordinate lifting and erection requirements, and support field modifications and as-built documentation.

02 / Your engineering package

Clear deliverables. Ready for the next team.

The deliverable list is agreed at the start. Each issue identifies its purpose, revision and outstanding inputs for the next project stage.

  • Design basis and structural calculations
  • Foundation and structural general arrangements
  • Steel fabrication and erection drawings
  • Concrete and reinforcement details
  • Material quantities and schedules
  • Modification and as-built documentation

03 / How we work

A clear route from requirement to handover.

We establish the design basis first, then develop and review the package with your project team.

  1. 01

    Agree the requirement

Confirm design criteria, site data and load inputs.

  2. 02

    Develop the package

Develop the structural scheme and analysis model.

  3. 03

    Review & coordinate

Coordinate interfaces and prepare details and quantities.

  4. 04

    Issue & hand over

Issue reviewed drawings and resolve agreed execution queries.

04 / The technical context

Aligned with your facility and requirements.

The equipment duty, project location and client standards determine the methods, platforms and acceptance criteria.

Industries & applications

Industrial plants, energy facilities, utilities and infrastructure, including process structures, equipment foundations, access platforms and supporting civil works.

Software & digital delivery

Structural analysis, 2D/3D modeling and drawing tools are chosen for the project requirements. Load schedules, model assumptions and interfaces with equipment and piping are maintained alongside the structural calculations.

Standards & design basis

Project-selected IS/BIS, Eurocodes, BS, ACI, AISC or ASCE references may govern the design. The basis establishes material properties, load combinations, environmental loads, geotechnical parameters and serviceability criteria before detailed checks proceed.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to common scope and coordination questions.

Which drawings support fabrication and site work?
The package can include structural arrangements, foundation and reinforcement details, anchor layouts and steel fabrication or shop drawings. The required drawing types and responsibility for connection detailing are agreed in the scope.
Does the service include structural analysis?
Yes. Analysis supports the design package. A focused assessment of an existing or complex structure can also be commissioned through the Structural Analysis service.
Why are geotechnical data and equipment loads important?
Foundation dimensions and reinforcement depend on ground conditions and the loads transferred by the equipment or structure. Preliminary values may support early planning, but their status and required confirmation must remain visible.
Can existing structures be checked for new equipment?
Yes, using available drawings, material information, condition observations and the proposed loads. Missing as-built or condition data are identified, and any strengthening recommendations are tied to the assessment basis.
