Precision Designs for Safe, Compliant & Efficient Projects

Detailed Engineering

Detailed Engineering Services

Coordinate the details that make a project buildable.

Convert an agreed design basis into coordinated information for procurement, fabrication and construction. Teckniv brings process, piping, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation work together for greenfield and brownfield projects. Deliverables are developed around the project schedule, vendor inputs and the decisions required by the execution team.

Who we support

EPC contractors, fabricators and asset owners that need checked, coordinated engineering documents for procurement, construction and installation after the design basis has been agreed.

01 / Engineering capabilities

Capabilities shaped around your project.

The scope is agreed around the decisions, interfaces and engineering outputs your team needs. These work areas can be combined into a defined package.

Multidiscipline development

Develop calculations, specifications, layouts and technical documents across the engineering disciplines. Maintain common design inputs and defined interfaces between systems.

Models and drawings

Prepare coordinated plant models, general arrangements, discipline drawings and installation details. Review clashes, access and construction constraints before issue.

Procurement and vendor interfaces

Develop datasheets, material quantities and technical requisition inputs. Incorporate vendor information into the plant design and track unresolved package interfaces.

Construction and change support

Respond to technical queries, assess design changes and update affected documents. Prepare as-built information from approved field records and markups within the agreed scope.

02 / Your engineering package

Clear deliverables. Ready for the next team.

The deliverable list is agreed at the start. Each issue identifies its purpose, revision and outstanding inputs for the next project stage.

  • Discipline calculations and design reports
  • Coordinated layouts and 3D models
  • Fabrication and installation drawings
  • Specifications, datasheets and requisition inputs
  • Material take-offs and bills of materials
  • Revision registers and as-built updates

03 / How we work

A clear route from requirement to handover.

We establish the design basis first, then develop and review the package with your project team.

  1. 01

    Agree the requirement

Review the input package and establish the deliverable register.

  2. 02

    Develop the package

Develop discipline calculations, models and drawings.

  3. 03

    Review & coordinate

Coordinate vendor data and close design review comments.

  4. 04

    Issue & hand over

Issue controlled deliverables and support agreed construction queries.

04 / The technical context

Aligned with your facility and requirements.

The equipment duty, project location and client standards determine the methods, platforms and acceptance criteria.

Industries & applications

Oil and gas, power, petrochemical, paint and chemical facilities, water treatment, mining and minerals, and cross-country pipeline projects. Packages can support new facilities or brownfield modifications.

Software & digital delivery

2D/3D design models, discipline calculations and controlled drawing registers support coordinated delivery. CAD platforms, model exchange, naming conventions and issue formats are agreed with the client and project partners.

Standards & design basis

Depending on the system, references may include ASME B31.1/B31.3/B31.4/B31.8/B31.9, ASME Section VIII, API, ISO 14692, CAN/CSA Z662, IS/BIS, Eurocodes, BS, ACI, AISC and ASCE. The project code register selects the applicable documents and editions; not every code applies to every package.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to common scope and coordination questions.

Can Teckniv work as an extension of an EPC design team?
Yes. Discipline scope, document standards, interfaces and review responsibilities can be aligned with the EPC contractor’s engineering system.
How are interfaces between disciplines controlled?
Equipment data, loads, connections, routes and operating requirements are reviewed against a common design basis. Interface questions and changes are tracked so drawings and schedules develop consistently across disciplines.
Can drawings be issued in stages for procurement and construction?
Yes, where the project agrees a staged release plan. Each issue states its purpose and maturity, and unresolved vendor data or interfaces are identified before a document is released for its intended use.
How are vendor changes incorporated?
Vendor documents are checked against the design basis and affected interfaces. Accepted changes are reflected in the models, drawings and schedules, with revisions controlled through the project document register.
