Accurate. Reliable. Engineered for Intelligent Operations
Instrumentation & Control Engineering
Instrumentation and Control Engineering
Connect field instruments with control requirements.
Connect process requirements with the instruments and control systems needed to operate the plant. Teckniv develops instrumentation specifications, control documentation and field installation information for industrial projects. The work brings measurement, automation and discipline interfaces into a coordinated package for procurement, installation and commissioning.
Who we support
EPC and automation teams, package suppliers and owners that need field instrumentation and control documentation coordinated with the process and plant systems.
Instrumentation and Control Engineering • India & international projects
01 / Engineering capabilities
Capabilities shaped around your project.
The scope is agreed around the decisions, interfaces and engineering outputs your team needs. These work areas can be combined into a defined package.
Instrument definition
Develop the instrumentation basis, instrument index, I/O lists and datasheets. Select and size instruments and control valves using the applicable process conditions and project requirements.
Control-system engineering
Define DCS, PLC and SCADA interfaces, control architecture, logic and interlock requirements. Prepare cause-and-effect information and narratives that explain intended system behavior.
Field installation and cabling
Develop hook-ups, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, junction-box layouts and cable routes. Coordinate instrument access and installation with piping, mechanical and electrical design.
Testing and start-up support
Support calibration, loop checks, validation and commissioning within the agreed scope. Reconcile field changes with the final instrument and control documentation.
02 / Your engineering package
Clear deliverables. Ready for the next team.
The deliverable list is agreed at the start. Each issue identifies its purpose, revision and outstanding inputs for the next project stage.
✓Instrument index, I/O lists and datasheets
✓Control architecture and functional documentation
✓Logic, interlock and cause-and-effect information
✓Loop, wiring and hook-up drawings
✓Cable and junction-box schedules
✓Test inputs and as-built documentation
03 / How we work
A clear route from requirement to handover.
We establish the design basis first, then develop and review the package with your project team.
01
Agree the requirement
Establish the instrument and control design basis.
02
Develop the package
Develop specifications, indexes and system interfaces.
03
Review & coordinate
Coordinate field details and review control documentation.
04
Issue & hand over
Support agreed testing and update the final records.
04 / The technical context
Aligned with your facility and requirements.
The equipment duty, project location and client standards determine the methods, platforms and acceptance criteria.
Industries & applications
Oil and gas, chemicals, power, water, manufacturing and infrastructure facilities, from new control systems to brownfield instrument and automation modifications.
Software & digital delivery
Instrument databases or schedules, CAD loop and wiring drawings, and PLC/DCS/SCADA interface documents support the scope. Client and vendor platforms determine the required formats, tag conventions and system handover.
Standards & design basis
Relevant ISA and IEC requirements, hazardous-area criteria and client instrumentation specifications are identified in the design basis. Safety-related functions and interfaces are coordinated with the project’s process-safety requirements and responsible specialists.

Frequently asked questions
Practical answers to common scope and coordination questions.
Can the design integrate with an existing DCS or PLC?+
The engineering can address existing systems when their architecture, spare capacity, interface requirements and vendor constraints are available for review.
Does a cause-and-effect chart replace control narratives?+
They serve different purposes. The chart records defined relationships, while narratives explain operating sequences and intended behavior in more detail.
Can you coordinate instruments supplied inside vendor packages?+
Yes. Package I/O, signals, communications, power and shutdown interfaces can be reconciled with the plant system. The scope records which documents are produced by the package vendor and which by the project team.
Does the scope include commissioning assistance?+
Calibration support, loop checks and start-up assistance can be included when agreed. Site access, test procedures, vendor participation and responsibility for accepting test results should be defined in advance.
