Industrial Plant Digitization

Transforming Engineering Workflows Through Digital Excellence.

Industrial Plant Digitization

Industrial Plant Digitization Services

Turn plant information into usable digital records.

Create engineering information that reflects the facility you need to operate or modify. Teckniv combines site capture, point-cloud processing, 3D modeling and document updates to support plant digitization. We organize the work around the intended use of the information, whether that is a brownfield project, coordination review or asset documentation.

Who we support

Plant owners, maintenance teams and EPC contractors that need reliable digital information for brownfield design, expansion planning or modernization of existing records.

01 / Engineering capabilities

Capabilities shaped around your project.

The scope is agreed around the decisions, interfaces and engineering outputs your team needs. These work areas can be combined into a defined package.

Capture and data assessment

Review existing drawings and available scan data, and define any additional capture requirements. Establish coverage, coordinates and the intended use before modeling begins.

Point-cloud processing

Register, clean and organize scan data to provide a usable spatial reference. Identify gaps or obscured areas that affect model completeness.

Models and engineering records

Develop coordinated plant models and update drawings or asset information. Agree the required geometry, attributes and delivery formats for the receiving team.

Verification and handover

Review the model against available evidence and resolve identified discrepancies. Provide structured files and documentation that can be maintained after project completion.

02 / Your engineering package

Clear deliverables. Ready for the next team.

The deliverable list is agreed at the start. Each issue identifies its purpose, revision and outstanding inputs for the next project stage.

  • Capture requirements and data-gap assessment
  • Registered and organized point-cloud datasets
  • Multidisciplinary 3D or BIM models
  • Updated drawings and as-built records
  • Model verification and discrepancy reports
  • Structured handover and agreed asset information

03 / How we work

A clear route from requirement to handover.

We establish the design basis first, then develop and review the package with your project team.

  1. 01

    Agree the requirement

Define the digital information required for the project.

  2. 02

    Develop the package

Assess or capture the available facility evidence.

  3. 03

    Review & coordinate

Develop models and reconcile engineering records.

  4. 04

    Issue & hand over

Verify outputs and hand over structured files.

04 / The technical context

Aligned with your facility and requirements.

The equipment duty, project location and client standards determine the methods, platforms and acceptance criteria.

Industries & applications

Oil and gas, chemical, power and manufacturing facilities, utilities and other industrial sites. Use cases include retrofit planning, engineering coordination and updating legacy plant documentation.

Software & digital delivery

Published platforms include Autodesk ReCap, AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks, with Leica Cyclone, Faro Scene or CloudCompare for relevant point-cloud workflows. Scan and model exchange formats are agreed around the client’s intended use and software environment.

Standards & design basis

The project information requirements define coordinates, model scope, naming, accuracy expectations and acceptance checks. Scan coverage and verification limits are recorded; a static model is distinguished from a live digital twin connected to asset or operating data.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to common scope and coordination questions.

Can digitization include legacy drawing updates?
Yes. The package can combine model development with CAD conversion, redlining and updates to existing plant records. The source and verification status of each record should be retained so users can distinguish confirmed information from assumptions.
Can digitization support a small plant modification?
Yes. The scope can focus on the affected area and its interfaces, provided the capture and model boundaries support the intended engineering decisions.
Does a 3D plant model automatically become a live digital twin?
No. A model represents defined geometry and information. A live digital twin also requires agreed data connections, asset identifiers, update responsibilities and an operating use case.
How are areas that cannot be scanned handled?
Restricted or obscured areas are identified in the coverage and uncertainty record. Additional capture, existing records or site verification may be required; inferred geometry should remain distinguishable from verified information.
